Société Nationale de l’Acadie

Du 27 avril au 1 mai 2022, dans le cadre du Festival International de Louisiane, de Lafayette (http://www.festivalsacadiens.com/) la Société Nationale de l’Acadie, en collaboration avec ses partenaires, présentera un pavillon qui mettra en valeur les artistes et les institutions d’enseignement de l’Acadie tout en faisant la promotion de l'Acadie comme destination touristique et d’immigration et partenaire économique de premier choix.  

Une scène sera aménagée dans le pavillon acadien, au cœur du festival, et la Société de promotion des artistes acadiens sur la scène internationale (SPAASI) est à la recherche d’artistes dans les deux disciplines suivantes: 

• Des groupes ou artistes musicaux pouvant se produire sur cette scène;
• Des artistes visuels pour une exposition intitulée « Mer d’Acadie » dont les œuvres seront reproduites sur des supports professionnels.

CACHET ET PRISE EN CHARGE

• Un cachet de 4 000 $ sera versé à chaque groupe de musique sélectionné et une bourse d’un maximum de 2 000 $ sera offerte pour les frais de déplacement, l’hébergement et les repas;
• Un cachet de 500 $ sera versé à chaque artiste en arts visuels sélectionné, en plus de couvrir les coûts de reproduction des œuvres. 

CRITÈRES DE SÉLECTION
Les critères de sélection sont :

• • Le potentiel d’exportation de l’artiste : 20% ;
  • La capacité et préparation de l’artiste/agence à travailler dans un contexte international : 10% ;
  • La pertinence de cette vitrine dans le contexte de développement de carrière de l’artiste : 20%;
  • Le style dans le contexte du Festival International de Louisiane : 50 %. 

• Répondants à tous les critères;

• La sélection des artistes se fera par un jury;
• La sélection des artistes pourra se faire en prenant compte des ressources financières accordées par les gouvernements provinciaux à la présentation de ce pavillon.
• La province de résidence des artistes pourrait être prise en compte dans les critères de sélection du jury.
• Les candidatures éligibles seront revues par un jury et auront pour objectif de trouver consensus dans la sélection finale des artistes. 

ÉLIGIBILITÉ

Les artistes intéressés à soumettre leur candidature doivent d’abord répondre aux critères de sélection suivants. Seuls les candidats ayant répondu à ces critères d’éligibilité seront considérés.

• L’artiste doit avant tout : 
  • Être un artiste professionnel;
  • Avoir une amorce de développement de carrière et être lié avec au moins une structure professionnelle reconnue;
  • Avoir démontrer vouloir travailler à l’international et être disponible pour le faire;
  • Proposer une formule artistique adaptée au concept du pavillon et à l’événement (https://festivalinternational.org/);
  • Fournir un dossier de presse de l’artiste et la fiche technique pour l’événement;
• Pour les artistes de la musique :
  • Sauf exception, l’artiste de la musique doit avoir sorti un album ou un EP dans les 18 derniers mois précédant la date de l’événement;
  • Être disponible du 27 avril au 1 mai (26 au 2 mai avec les déplacements);
  • L’artiste et/ou les membres du groupe doivent avoir un passeport valide et avoir le droit de voyager aux États-Unis;

2.3  Une fois sélectionné, l’artiste en musique devra : 

2.3.1       Confirmer sa participation et le nom des membres du groupes qui l’accompagneront.

2.3.2       Confirmer la fiche technique (adaptée au concept du pavillon);

2.3.3       Fournir une liste de partage des chambres (chambre twin);

2.3.4       Fournir les informations nécessaires pour procéder aux réservations des billets d’avion. 

3.    DATE DE TOMBÉE DE L’APPEL D’INTÉRÊT 

Vous devez faire parvenir votre dossier de candidature à la Société de promotion des artistes acadiens sur la scène internationale accompagné d’un paragraphe expliquant pourquoi cette mission vous intéresse, d’un lien vers un enregistrement audio ou un portfolio d’artiste, du dossier de presse et de la fiche technique au plus tard le vendredi 11 mars à 17h (heure de l’Atlantique).

From April 27 to May 1, 2022, as part of the Festival International de Louisiane, Lafayette (http://www.festivalsacadiens.com/), the Société Nationale de l'Acadie, in collaboration with its partners, will operate a pavilion showcasing Acadian artists and educational institutions, and promoting Acadie as a tourist and immigration destination as well as a prime economic partner.

A stage will be set up in the Acadian pavilion, in the centre of the festival area, and the Société de promotion des artistes acadiens sur la scène internationale (SPAASI) is looking for artists in the following two disciplines:

• Musical groups or artists who can perform on stage;
• Visual artists for an exhibition entitled “Mer d'Acadie”, whose works will be reproduced on professional media.

REMUNERATION AND COVERAGE

• A fee of $4,000 will be paid to each selected music group and a grant of up to $2,000 will be offered for travel expenses, accommodation and meals;
• A fee of $500 will be paid to each selected visual artist, in addition to covering the cost of reproducing the works.

Deadline : Friday, March 11 at 5:00 p.m. (Atlantic time).

SELECTION AND ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

1.    SELECTION CRITERIA

• The selection criteria are:
  • Export potential of the artist: 20%;
  • Capacity and preparedness of the artist/agency to work in an international context: 10% ;
  • Relevance of this showcase in the context of the artist's career development: 20%;
  • Style in the context of the Louisiana International Festival: 50%.
• Priority will be given to artists :
  • That meet all criteria;
  • Artist selection will be made by jury;
  • Artist selection may be made by taking into account the financial resources granted by the various provincial governments for the pavilion.
  • Province of residence of the artist could be taken into account in the selection made by the jury.
  • Eligible applications will be reviewed by a jury with the objective of reaching a consensus in the final selection of artists.

• ELIGIBILITY

Interested artists must meet the following eligibility criteria before applying. Only applicants who meet these criteria will be considered.

• The artist must first and foremost:
  • Be a professional artist;
  • Be in the early stages of career development and be linked to at least one recognized professional structure;
  • Have demonstrated a desire to work internationally and be available to do so;
  • Offer an artistic formula adapted to the concept of the pavilion and the event (https://festivalinternational.org/);
  • Provide a press kit and technical file for the event;
• For music artists :
  • With some exceptions, a music artist must have released an album or EP within the last 18 months prior to the event date;
  • Be available from April 27 to May 1, 2022. (May 26 to May 2 including travel time);
  • Artist and/or band members must have a valid passport and be eligible to travel to the United States;
• Once selected, a music artist will:
  • Confirm his/her participation and the names of the accompanying band members;
  • Confirm the technical file (adapted to the concept of the pavilion);
  • Provide a list of shared rooms (twin room);
  • Provide all relevant information for airline bookings.
